NORTHMELD WORKFLOWS

Clean CSV data in your browser

Northmeld lets you inspect and clean CSV tables in your browser. Local cleanup keeps the file in the browser by default, with tools for whitespace, duplicates, inconsistent values, and export.

For analysts and operations teams preparing CSV exports for reporting, imports, or further analysis.

How it works

  1. 1

    Import and inspect

Open your CSV in the workspace. Check headers, empty cells, duplicate rows, and the preview before choosing corrections.

  2. 2

    Apply targeted cleanup

Trim whitespace, review duplicate removal, and standardize values using explicit rules. Check the affected rows before accepting changes.

  3. 3

    Export the cleaned table

Review the result and export CSV or XLSX. Keep a copy of the original for comparison.

Example input and output

Input

Name,Country
Jamie ,Canada
Alex,United States

Output

Name,Country
Jamie,Canada
Alex,United States

Illustrative whitespace cleanup and exact duplicate removal. Similar records are not necessarily duplicates.

Limits and review

  • Choose duplicate criteria carefully; repeated rows can be legitimate business records.
  • Local performance depends on file size, available browser memory, and the operations selected.
  • Optional cloud project saving is separate from the default local cleanup workflow.

Common questions

Is the CSV uploaded automatically?

CSV and Excel cleanup stays in your browser by default. Choosing cloud project storage is a separate action.

Should I delete every repeated value?

No. Review whether the complete record or selected key identifies a duplicate; repeated names alone may refer to different records.

Can I export to Excel?

You can export the reviewed table as XLSX or CSV.
